Im gonna install my lift tomarrow so i figured id try the shock bolts tonight so i can get new ones after the expected brakage. First one snapped with little effort.
Should i cut the rear floor out to make it easy to get new bolts in? Just a small section or try feeding them in like the write up in tech section on here?
Also is the bolt size 5/16 1" long for the front and rear?

ive had this problem a few times. what i did was drill out the nut thats inside that sub member in the back. use a nut and a washer and sitck your hand up there and put the bolt through. use a lock washer or youll have a hell of a time tighting it up

i normally drop bolts down through the unibody .... 5/16 will do 3/8 bettah get new or they will suck to tighten....
Im gonna get new grade 8 3/8 is 1" good. Front same? What size is the bolt from leaf to shackle? Just want to have all new

i had the same problem. i ended up cutting the floor and then cut all the old weld nuts out then replaced it all with new grade 8 3/8" hardware. i think an inch would work

shackle bolt is metric good luck.... 9/16" X 4 1/2 is the best replacement for that if i recall (DON'T QUOTE ME ON THE LENGTH... DON'T REPLACE THAT UNLESS YOU BREAK/ HAVE TO CUT IT!!!!!)

MY OP broke the bolts drilled new wholes and used those bolts with threads to screw the bolts in. worked great so for me. idk how long theyve been in there though
Did front and one side of rear today. The other bolt came out fine with an impact gun. Tied a string to new bolt and pulled it through this was way easier then i thought.

I say just drill it out and use a flush nut.
Did all my tears that way and haven't had any problems so far at all. Took all of 10 mins per side.
