Default serp. belt
ever since i put a durango 136a alternator on my xj the belt keeps sliding half way off the power steering pulley. Anyone know why??? thanks

Did change pully? Or is the Durango the same?

The pullys are probably out of line.
Put a strait edge across the altternator pulley and see if it lines up with the other pulleys.

iirc the durango pulley has 6 ribs versus the XJ 5. if you dont change pulleys leave the one closest to front open and use back 5.

everything is lined up and i have it on the back 5... IDK, it squeals like mad and ive put 4 belts on it in about 4 months

I swapped the pulleys on mine. I didn't think the ribs were lined up when I checked it before I swapped it. It was almost as if the 6 rib pulley sat right in the middle of the alignment.
