serp. belt
ever since i put a durango 136a alternator on my xj the belt keeps sliding half way off the power steering pulley. Anyone know why??? thanks

iirc the durango pulley has 6 ribs versus the XJ 5. if you dont change pulleys leave the one closest to front open and use back 5.

everything is lined up and i have it on the back 5... IDK, it squeals like mad and ive put 4 belts on it in about 4 months

I swapped the pulleys on mine. I didn't think the ribs were lined up when I checked it before I swapped it. It was almost as if the 6 rib pulley sat right in the middle of the alignment.
