Default S-10 Bastard pack HELP

So I did my rear bastard pack lift and I ended up only using the main S-10 leaf and still got about 3.5 inches (4 inches if you count the sagging I had). I'm guessing it'll sag down about a half inch or inch, which is fine but.... my question is, is it okay to have space in between the leaves? With the S-10 main in the middle of my xj pack it is lifting the xj main and now there is a space in between them. Maybe it will go away after breaking in the lift but I was just wondering what your guys' opinions were on this!?

Thanks

Here are pics of it. This is the driver's side. It is not as bad on the pass.

Looks like stock spring bending down already don't follow bastards pack set ups much but maybe a set of these are in order, just looks like theres a lot of tension there.

I was thinking the exact same thing! I'm going to the hardware store later to get 'em. I thought you weren't supposed to tighten them that much though, to let the springs move and flex??

I know there should not be a gap that's for sure that should pull together with out to much force id instal them about 10 inchs or so from end. 2 smaller springs would of might been better .

You cut the leafs too short. They are digging into the main and causing it to bend like that. Try turning the s10 leaf around the other way. If that doesn't work, start over and don't cut them so short this time.

Edit: depending on how shot you main is, it may be bent. The old springs on my jeep when I bought it actually went the wrong direction and when I put an AAL in the pack the same thing happend. Try driving it for a couple days and see if that helps. If not, refer to the first part.

I tried turning it around already and it definitely doesn't work going the other way. I'm just going to get some clamps and hopefully it just will sag into alignment with the main after some driving...

Go with the clamps man. My 3" add a leaf and a buddy's 2" add a leaf for a Chevy pickup both did exactly what yours did. I used rough country clamps supplied with their kit and he used those u bolt clamps. Both work great

I got the clamps and it's riding fine. The main leaf in the picture of mine looks bent but now looking at the actual leaf in person it's not bent but we'll see how things level out!

Thanks guys
