Default Rusty's high knuckle steering upgrade?? reviews??

Aloha. I'm looking for a high knuckle steering conversion for my 99 xj. I currently have a 6in lift with 35s so the stock steering just isn't cutting it anymore. I was planning on getting Rusty's version because I have a $500 credit with them, but i just noticed that the kit isn't built to have a stabablizer with it. Meaning the new tie rod doesn't have a mount for one at all. Has anybody ran this kit with success or have any thoughts? If not suggest a kit that you know IS good. But hopefully i can go with rusty's because of my store credit. Thanks guys

I was actually going to run that kit, then changed h mind for other reasons. I really like it, could be very solid kit if setup right. Rustys has bad rep with the other kit they have but with this one i have read a couple places people like it. It would be a great upgrade from stock for you, and it would handle way better. With the track bar being on "top" of the axle now you will droop farther.

The downsides are that you will have to stick with that track bar, and welding is required. If you can weld then go for it. Its not a complicated bead that needs to be laid on it either. Some say heims are noisy on steering, but so are tre's when they're shot. If the heims start going bad fast, find an industrial supply and get some good ones!

IMO if i had a 500$ store credit, stock steering and had the time to weld it up right i would deff run it.

I've installed a few of these kits. They are easy to install. The problem some have had is the draglink to pitman arm bolt is in single shear. Not an issue for mall crawlers though, but not exactly the best solution IMO. I'd use a TRE there or double shear the PA.
