Default Rugged Ridge HD steering

Ok heres my dilemna....I just bought the Rugged Ridge HD 1-ton steering package on my 90 Cherokee.

Woman at the front seemed a bit busy, got a mechanic to bring out the part for me. When i got home, the box actually had 2 systems in there!!!!

Do i return the 2nd one or should i keep it?

Almost too bad that instead of you picking it up it was not shipped to you. Betting if you came clean and called them instead of them making arrangements to get it shipped back to them (sending you a box and prepaid shipping label) they would just tell you to keep it. Thinking come clean and return it. Karma is a *****. What comes around goes around and whatnot. Besides the mechanic is the one, if and when the stock shortage comes to light, who is going to take the beating for this. He was just trying to look out and help. Granted he probably should have been paying more attention but it was not his job to to that.

Going to be frank here. Glad I am not in you shoes. It is easy to type the ethical thing to do but to actually do it is something else.

Got to wonder why there would be 2 systems in one box though. Maybe technically the mechanic did not make a mistake and somebody boxed it wrong at the factory? Can't see the factory putting 2 systems in a box so the retailer has to break it apart to sell one.

None of this really helps does it?

Is it two individual boxes strapped together? or is it literally one box for one system that has two systems in it? One bar code?

Maybe they dont sell them in those boxes and instead they take them out before selling them or putting them on display or something?

If they crammed two systems in one box that looks like it was meant to be sold with one in that box I might keep it. but I would have a hard time doing it. but if thats the case then they wont miss it come inventory time if they never opened the box and found it the factory made the mistake

but if its obvious that it was a mistake on their part then I'd take it back.

I would take it back if I was in the same situation. It’s the right thing to do.

To be clear these systems must be boxed in pairs and shipped out. The label on outer initial box does have the code x 2. Guess retailers receive them in pairs and are supposed to unpackage them. The 2 systems are boxed individually inside this outer box.

ive made the call and returning the 2nd system.

too bad though....dont know what the aftermarket is like for these steering solutions but they aint cheap.

They include the warranty replacement. That's cool.
