Anybody prefer one over the other. I ordered the Rugged ridge 1 ton steering upgrade. Unfortunately I looked at reviews after the purchase and read multiple people that they experienced 2" of deadspace. That was enough to for me to look for another option in the same price range or lower. Crown has a really affordable set up. Compares to the ZJ V8 upgrade. Not nearly as beefy as the rugged ridge but still an upgrade from stock.
Any input??

I had the JCR one ton kit on my ZJ for a short time. I didn't like it for two reasons. First reason is clearance issues when turning full lock to the right, the tie rod would hit the track bar bolt. The second reason was the worst, severe death wobble and bump steer. I put the stock system back on with a Rough Country tie rod and the steering is a lot better. Still a little bump steer, but nothing like what I had with the JCR stuff.

If your running 37" tires or larger you need a 1 ton steering upgrade. For smaller tires I have had good luck with 33 & 35" tires using the V-8 ZJ upgrade I bought from AutoZone for under a $100 the ones I got were Moog but their brand.
I have no steering issues on or off road, it all depends on tires and the type of wheeling you do.

I've never had a setup on my jeeps that didn't have a little bump steer, even stock. It's really down to what you can live with. On road most setups won't have much.
I run the one from serious offroad. I have the UTK Kit, no complaints. I dont currently plan on running anything bigger than a 33. However it's one of those components that id rather not have address again because I changed my mind and now I want to run bigger tires.
I don't know your budget but if you can afford it do it. I haven't heard anyone say they "man I should've gone with another brand"
Just a happy customers 2 cents
Goodluck!

I had the same problem with mine. So I ended going with synergy steering. Really happy with it.

I just installed this Heim steering setup this past weekend. Its made by B Lee's Off Road. So far it is working perfectly. Zero "dead spot" in the steering wheel. I replaced my Serious 1 ton setup with this kit. TRE kept wearing out giving play in the wheel. Drove me nuts. The biggest plus with the Heim kit you only have to drill pitman arm and knuckles out to 5/8". AND there is no modifications to the axle side sway bar mount. Just my 2 cents
