Default Rubicon Express springs...

Is there any reason my springs look bowed? First pic is driver side second is pass. It's an older Rub. Exp. 4.5 super flex kit like this one: http://www.rubiconexpress.com/Lift-K...pn=R%2fERE6130

Also when I start accelerating from a stop I hear a light thump kinda in center underneath and wondering if it could be rear driveshaft. Picture below. Would a shim kit on the leafs be helpful to adjust the angle to help push the shaft in further where it might actually be where it's supposed to be? Thanks guys.

Looks like your axle is pushed too far forward.

either the bumpstop towers are bent or the coil buckets angled off.

is your caster in the ballpark of 5 to 7 degrees?

I thought my axle might be a bit far forward too. As for the angle I'm not 100% sure. I got the XJ with the kit already on it a year ago. The thump noise is about 2 months recent. Is there anyway to find the degree with measurements? As for the springs I thought maybe they were sposed to be like that cus of superflex kit but it's always looked off to me like it shouldn't be that way.

Just cause its a superflex doesnt mean it should be like that. Are they seated properly?

you can check caster with an angle finder. Angle finders can be found at most tool stores

Harbor freight and sears sell them for about $10 and they also come in handy for pinion/driveshaft angles and whatnot.

SuperFlex/SuperRide refers to the control arm joints only.

Yeah I used angle finders when I built cabinets but don't have any on hand lol. I'll have to grab one tomorrow after work. I'll also have to jack it up tomorrow after work tomorrow and check the springs out as well.
