Quote: its way smoother, response it way better , not nearly as rigid as short arms , it basicly brings the geometry back to a stock jeep setup but lifted!

Long arm it shall be!

Do you use the longer arms alone or with the lowering brackets that change the angle that I see RC selling or is it one or the other?

I just put my RE kit in a few months back. I didn't weld the cross-member to the uni-frame, and was wondering the same thing. I have heard of a lot of people who just bolt the kit in. Besides all of the cross-member pieces were powdercoated so they would have had to been stripped before welding. I have only got about 5 miles of driving on my kit thus far though.

How's the ride so far?
You gonna stock up some bushing just in case we never got to see Rubicon Express anymore?

Another NEWBIE question.
If the lower control arm bracket were to be removed permanently, does that mean that i can NEVER swap in for other suspension kit after going with the Rubicon Express long arm kit (ex. Iron Rock)?

The ride is great. lots of flex and comfy on road. you wont be able to go back to stock location suspension using the stock lower control arm mounts because they get hacked off, but all long arm systems use a location OTHER than stock, or it wouldnt be "long arm". you could swap to a different long arm system, just going to have to remove the RE crossmember and install the other one with all control arms ect. You might be able to get away with using it, with some modification of course, but I am not sure.

No, you dont use the lowering brackets. You have to add mounting locations using a crossmember assembly for most long arms. The drop brackets are used to reduce the angle of your control arms for higher lifts wiithout going long arm.

you could go back to stock location arms, you would just have to weld new mounts on to the stock location and make sure its aligned just right if youre putting in fixed length arms

There are plenty other reputable companies to buy LA kits from.
RK, IRO, Clayton, etc. Also people/compaines that make long arm UPGRADES; FrankZ
, ironman4x4fab..
You get the idea. Don't wait around and expect them to make a comeback, besides if certain parts fail you are hosed.

Ride seems a little better, but I can't say much so far. The kit hasn't been fully aligned, only eyeballed/measured to the best of my abilities. Don't have an SYE yet, so the drive-line vibes were terrible, and I have a shot drag link end, but I will let you know when I get more $$$ to move a long with the project.

As for parts, I hope RE come back, but I can't keep my hopes up. As far a joints and bushings, I don't know if RE is the manufacturer, if not, I would hope I could find a replacement from their suppliers. Hard parts??? if they break and RE goes away screwed I am .
