Default rubicon express leaf springs life expectancy

I am thinking of trading my 7 month old 3.5" rubicon express leaf springs with a guy who has some 2 year old low mileage 4.5" RE leaf springs. Does this sound like a wise decision? What type of lifespan would I typically expect from these? I would like to add an inch and this seems like a perfect opportunity.

Depending on what/how he used them they can be great. Springs will hold shape for a very long time if not overloaded alot. If he hauled alot of weight or offroaded with them most of there life then they could be a little weak or even sagging a bit. Hope that helps.

My 4.5s are about 6 years old and sit maybe .5" lower than new.

Must be luck of the draw. I never hauled anything with my heavy duty Crown springs (sold by Quadratec) and they started sagging in three months.

Thanks for all the input. I will be checking them out today, and measuring the difference between his current height and mine, so if it is about an inch higher and they arent covered in rust, I will probably do it.

My 3.5" RE leafs are at least 5 yrs old and they still give around 4" of lift.
RE makes some of the best leaf springs, at least they did .

National and deavers are the best but you can almost get a complete lift kit with spring packs for the price of of their leaves. If it were me I would be happy to at least entertain the idea. Sound's like a win win deal.
