Rubicon Express 4.5 SF Issues
The RE mono shocks in the rear that I have are too tall for the lift. The rear will not sag. What are the best shocks for my rear axle so my left springs can start doing their jobs? Not trying to break the bank here. I have swapped in an 8.8 as well, if that matters. Subsequently my RE shocks that only have 5k on them which would be PERFECT for a 6.5 to 8in lift will be coming up for sale cheap.

Contact re and tell them you received the wrong shocks with your kit.
Unless you messed up somewhere. How did you do the shock mounts on the 8.8? Did you raise them at all when putting shock mounts on the axle?
What travel are the the shocks you received?

If the shock is too long, how is that keeping the rear from dropping fully?
Makes no sense.
More info about who and how it was installed.
Pics?
Were the shocks ordered based on lift height or did you measure for the extended and collapsed lengths before ordering the shocks.

KTM: I purchased the correct shocks for the kit through Morris 4x4. There was a 3.5RE shock, and a 4.5....I have put 10k on the kit, half on stock wheelstires, half on 33's and cragars. I have had more weight than I should have in the back for long periods of time...Even after the first 5K I had to put daystar 1.75 spacers up front just to level it out...and the back STILL rides higher than the front. I had the kit professionally put on at a shop(too rusty for me) when I had the chrysler8.25 still in there...After I geared down to the 33's I put the 8.8 in. It was the same height, maybe a 1/4 to a 1/2 inch taller...but nothing noticable.
Serious: My logic tells me(I don't know much shock tech) that if the rear just plain and simple refuses to sag...and when I have weight in the cargo area and hit a bump at speed and my shock bottoms out and slams the mount...there is a part sizing issue. The Chrysler did the same thing.
I have done an sye and shaft kit thats not the issue.

That shock is 3 inches longer than a stock shock when collapsed and 5 inches longer extended.

Pics would definately help. The 507 would be the correct shock for a 4.5 SF with the new rear springs and shackles. The 4.5" kit with blocks and add a leafs would take the 508. Which kit do you have?
Also what do the shock mounts you used on your axle swap look like. If they are raised from stock level then you may need the shorter 508 shocks. Possibly even shorter depending on the mounts.

Nevermind...I couldn't get the boot off and didn't feel like it to be honest as I have plans tonight..But I measured and my rear shock is sittin at 3.5 inches of room between the bottom of the shock and the mount.

Are your shackles properly oriented (backwards 45 degrees)?
If they are not and close to vertical, the springs cannot do their job and might be the ones limiting your flex in the rear...

I think what he saying us that the rear isn't settling down after the lift install. Not that he isn't getting axle droop. I'm not convinced that it's a shock issue but I'm still open to hear what others have to say.

If you only have 3.5" of shock up travel when the Jeep is sitting on level ground then the shocks are a little too long for the mounts you have on the new axle. Get shorter shocks or lower the bottom of the mount a little.
