Default rough country question?

alright well when I bought my jeep it had the 4.5" RC lift on it. It has coils up front and shackle and AAL and the rear has the droops. I was wondering if anybody could tell me how much lift the RC AAL adds or how much the RC shackle adds? so I know how much to compensate for when replacing will full leaf packs.

thanks

I believe they are a 3" lift leaf pack and 1.5" shackle. How does yours ride? Im thinking of the 4.5"RC lift and drop brackets for my 98.

Is that how much the AAL adds? and in my opinion it rides like horse S*** but i think once i replace the AALs with full packs and the long on upgrade it will be a whole lot better! but the only good thing about stuff front springs atleast is if you add a winch and stuff it won't sag. Although everybody has their own opinions

Some AALs do 2" but RC makes a 3" AAL also. I installed the RC 3" AAL kit for a friend a while back and it rode pretty good. Its rare to see a 94 xj with rear leafs that still hold their stock height. Haha

my 4.5 rc lift has 2.5 aal and 2 in shackles but wen i removed my stock springs i found a broken main leaf so i went to summit and got 4" pro comp full spring packs for 100 each and they work well with my 4.5 rc front coils

so my understanding is if I were to replace my stock leaf pack and the AAL with a 4.5" RC full leaf pack and still keep the RC shackles I should be good?

That would probably put you a little high in the rear. You may need to go with a 3" leaf pack and your shackles.

well I plan on lifting it from 4.5"s to 5.5"s or 6"s here after while so I figured i would just go ahead and do the rear while I am spending the money.

thanks for all the replies and info!

I would get leaf packs other than RC mainly because my full packs have started to sag. I'll be adding more stock leaves just to stiffen it up. Iron rock makes a good pack but it is more expensive than the RC.

Yea I am definitely going with full packs I hate AAL's. Also Im big on not mixing companies together that are for the same thing, like the RC suspension came on it so Im going to TRY to keep it all RC

I wouldn't see any problems with mixing parts. You may like RC springs up front but like the ride of rustys springs in the back or the other way around. The way I see it 4.5" of lift is the same height with any name on it. Haha
