I have had my 99 cherokee for about 2 years now and a 3 inch rough country suspension lift for about a year now. i now want to go bigger
, unfortunatly not alot of cash. i got the idea of just adding the rough country 1.5 inch suspension lift http://www.roughcountry.com/jeep_xj_1.html im pretty sure the spacers and shackles would workout but i am i need to know if my shocks from my three inch lift will still be good, if not then is there any other details i am missing?!
those shocks wont work with a 4" kit. they are made for a 1.5". buy 1.5" coil spacer and 1.75" shackles and some good shocks. but once you go over 4"-4.5" you more then likely will need a SYE from drive line vibes. gonna have to think of gearing also since a larger tire will rob you some power with the stock gear.

stacking lift parts doesn't work with xjs, you really have to do it pretty right or don't do it... track bars, shocks, steering, drive shafts and control arms.. all very picky

I was going to do this same exact thing and instead i am going to buy a locker for the front and a limited slip for the rear. Then save for the 4.5" long arm and a shackle relocation kit for the rear.

i did the same thing ur doing i started off with a RC 3" lift and i wanted more so i got on roughcountry.com and went to scatch & dent and they had a set of xj RC 4.5" coils for like $75 bucks with a little bit of powder coat chipped off so i bought those and some factory 98 chevy silverado shackles they bolt rite up with a little bit of grinding "no big deal" and as for tha shocks i ran tha ones that came with my RC 3" lift for bout 4 mouths tile i had tha money to buy more and i had plenty of travel with them...hope this helps
