Rough counrty winch?
Has anyone had any experience with this rough country winch., Or any of these other ones. It is the cheapest brand name winch I have found with the most pulling power/ But It also weighs the most out of the other ones I am looking at also. I also am not sure on the warranty. Also This Is going to be going on a 1988 MJ with this bumper. http://www.dirtboundoffroad.com/feat...nch-bumper-xj/ .
Will these winches have sufficient enough pulling power for my 88 Comanche (MJ)?
Right now im trying to make up my mind on these winches all are 300$
Rough country RS9500 Winch $299.95
http://www.roughcountry.com/winches/...ch_rs9500.html
Quadratec Q9000 Self Recovery Winch 294.99
(also wondering if anyone has had experience with this on also.)
http://www.quadratec.com/products/92122_2000_07.htm
Smittybilt XRC-8 Winch $299.99
( my brother has this one and HE is having a issue with a loose connection in the plug for the remote.)
http://www.quadratec.com/products/92122_1000_07.htm
Mile Marker SEC8 Electric Winch $299.99
http://www.quadratec.com/products/92110_1021_07.htm
Superwinch Second Generation LP8500 Winch $299.99
http://www.quadratec.com/products/92140_1010_07.htm
So Help me out guys, give me opinions and input. RC winch looks like to most for your money depending on warranty, and second looks like Quadratec. But I feel like they are the least know winches out of all of them.

I have the XRC 8.. It's been used to up right other's off there roof. Works great and does not hesitate. I've had that little issue with the remote plug.. Can't let it get dirty. But I've wired it to a 2 stage toggle in my dash so I don't need the remote unless it's upside down..
Edit: I've seen the rough country winch in action before and it's a pretty noisy winch.

That's like "I've seen the smittybilt winch, and I don't like the color, too black"

Any of those winches will work perfectly fine with your MJ.
I have the RS9500 and Dan is right, it is a little noisy -which some people do care about, so back off the bashing. We each have our preferences. It's life. Learn to live with it. Now, back to the RS9500's noise level. It's not terrible at all, but it is louder than an xrc8. I went with it over the smittybilt for the extra pulling power for the same price. From my experience it's a good winch. But honestly, you'll be happy with either.
The RS9500 is made by the same company that makes mile markers so again, more pulling power for the same price, and again on the superwinch (though they're made by a different company).
I've never seen the quadratec in action so I can't say anything about it performs.
Bang for Buck, I say RS9500.

I just picked up a rough country 9500lb winch yesterday loaded with synthetic line. Will let you know how my play time goes this weekend with it.

Hey Dan, would love to see how you wired up your toggle switch.

Smittybuilts are hit and miss. I've seen several that were junk out of the box, my brother's being one. He had to send it back and the replacement is just as bad. It won't stay engauged under load so it's basically a decoration unless you're dumb enough to stand next to it and hold the lever in place. The brake on a wheeling buddies is gone so you have to hold in engauged or the vehicle will roll and it's less than 2 years old. The Smitty, Rugged Ridge and several others are all made by the same company just different labels.

Mile Marker SEC8 Electric Winch $299.99
I ordered this winch a few years ago, and MileMarker called me and told me they had a recall, and it was going through redesign due to shorting out in water. They upgraded my order, on my dime, to the 9.5. However, after a few months, it stopped working from... shorting out due to water. Probably my fault, since my jeep was submerged quite frequently in salt water out at Topsail beach. Other than that issue, as long as you will not be submerged in the salt water, or any water for that matter, this winch will work amazingly. For the price, it works awesome. Another you may look into is SuperWinch. I bought the... i wanna say 8000... for my cherokee, and it's price was 299, and it has worked great so far...

It's looks like I might just go with the rough country winch then. Does anybody know how good the warranty is? And that's for all the comments.
