Most racks can hold a 31" tire, what matters most is just securing it down properly. My Rage roof rack (looks exactly like a Rola) does the trick just fine......and only cost me $110.

Ive been wondering this same question. Where does the good name brand racks mount to? Ive seen some bolt to 4 bolts that stick out the roof of the jeep. If i wanted to build my own where should i mount it to?

Most people buy the mounts that clamp onto the gutters and some people just attach them to the existing bars. It really doesnt matter where you connect it to. Its cheaper to mount it to your existing bars because then you wont have to buy the mounts that connect to the gutters.

How much will the stock rack hold? I want to have a 31x10.5x15 on it, plus anything else i can fit. Then I want to build a cage to put over it so you can lock it and have a big steel cage on your roof.
