Default Rockkrawler 3 link

I think I m gonna drop the bomb on this one

Rock Krawler X Factor Plus Long Arm Upgrade
For 84-01 Jeep® Cherokee XJ
Quadratec Part No: 16189.8100
Manufacturer Part No: XJXFLA-UPG

Any tips for installation process?
Anyone have this with frame stiffeners?
Anyone running aftermarket crossmembers along with this kit?

Thanks!

If the aftermarket xmember bolts up the sides of the "frame" rail, it won't work.
IIRC one guy has this kit with frame stiffeners on here. I can't remember who it was now though.

Mine is still sitting in my living room waiting for me to not be lazy. It is bomb proof for sure. I was going to change the tranny mount and motor mounts while I was at it when I install it. Still don't have the tranny mount LOL.

Save ya 50$ and a vendor here...

if you have stiffeners then depending on which ones you have, you might have to modify the mounts. I would recommend welding the mounts (by someone that is very competent to do so) on to the stiffeners anyways and then you will have to modify them a bit anyways.

I run the 3 link in a Ultra4 and Jeepspeed class XJ and love it. I have the ruff stuff rails and did A lot of added bracing and tieing them to the cage inside and such. SO I cant answer your question exactly. But can say it works well...

I have the hd offroad stiffeners I plan on welding them on, then weld the mounts on. But I would want to replace my stock crossmember someday with an aftermarket one, but I wasn't sure if I would have room to bolt it on with the mounts in the way.

Also it say it come with front track bar in the description. I already replaced my track with RockKrawler's bombproof track bar two months ago.

Are u able to omit the track bar and reduce the price too?

that kit does not say it comes with the track bar, as well as it does not come with a track bar..

It does say its a 3 link with track bar design. Meaning Not triangulated...

Interesting. Quadratec said they can omit the track bar for reduced price.

OP, toss up a link to the kit you are looking at, the RK site link.

If I remember correctly the kit does list a trac bar. I was looking at their kit, but just got the mounts, not the whole kit.

I have 1st Gen RK 3-link. I had to shorten the spacers that go between the bracket and the inside of the frame rail as well as trim the pinch seam that's inside of the frame rail. Not a lot of modification to make it fit.

It's a great kit. Never had trouble out of it.

Aftermarket crossmember: It would depend on which one and how it's made. Mine is still OEM but I plan to build one for it soon since mine is rather beat.

Tips: Weld the crush sleeves and weld the brackets.

What changed from the first gen to now?

Were the links always this thick. How heavy are those arms?

Arms weigh a ton. Do not know exact weight but they are beefy. Shipping is like $100 or something.
