Default rocker replacements

I drive a 99 xj 4dr. Driver side rocker now has a big hole from rust and part of the panel is rusted all the way through. Can I cut out the entire rocker or most of it and buy replacement panel or is there an aftermarket option? Or does it have to be custom fabbed? Thanks for the help guys ahead of time!

You can either replace with a stock panel or you can replace the entire thing with thick walled steel.

If your Jeep is stock and you have no intentions of lifting it then just replace with stock rocker.

If you wheel your Jeep then I suggest you put up some 2x6 rectangle steel and start reading.

Both options are going to require fabrication and welding.

Option 1:

Option 2: (Some decent pictures in here)

Option 2 makes far more sense to me. It's cheaper and it's stronger.

That 2nd link from NAXJA is probably the cleanest install I have ever seen.

Do some 2x6 replacement.
