to my 97' or more hiring a mechanic, he said to get the steel ready, what materials will I need for this (I know nothing about steel) all help is appreciated!!!!!

just measure a piece of 2x6 - 3/16" the length you want it and bring it to him. any half decent fabricator should be able to figure out how to tie it in

what you really want to do is add middle frame stiffeners, then tie the new rocker into the frame. very stout very important upgrade

just google search "2x6 rocker naxja" or "2x6 rocker cherokeeforum"
plenty of write ups on this. make sure you show him exactly what you want

 

Yep I agree except I went with 3x5. It fits a bit better and is a little more solid in my opinion.

 

Nice job that should hold up well for you another one of those KISS deals they can't be beat.
