About to purchase rock sliders for my 96 Cherokee. So many out there and varying prices. Had my sites on AJs Armor XJ Super Rockrails due to price but after shipping I started seeing others that you could get already powder coated with free shipping for a less than $100 more than his setup.
Has anyone had experience with the OR-FAB Sliders ? [url]http://www.ebay.com/itm/OR-FAB-HD-Rock-Slider-Rocker-Guards-Wrinkle-Black-84-01-Jeep-Cherokee-XJ-/141381198808?fits=Model%3ACherokee&hash=item20eaf9 e3d8:g:aSAAAOSwxH1T89iB&vxp=mtr[/urlac]
Also considered Rocky Road Outfitters Cherokee Super Sliders. $500 shipped but I don't think they are coated. Also read some reviews about the company in general and saw significant complaints ranging from trouble installing product, slow turn around and poor service.
So of the three.. OR-FAB $420 shipped and powder coated.. AJs $380 shipped no powder coat (over $500 power coated).... RRO $500 power coated shipped.
I don't mind spending $500 but want the best I can get for that price.

So after researching Rocky Road Outfitters I think I will steer clear of them. Seems to be a fairly consistent pattern of extended waits on items ordered and poor feedback on company in general.. not the product.
So its between AJ and the OR-Fab. If you have use either let me know your experience.

Thanks. Looking at their facebook page I would say no longer active. Last post was 2012. While waiting I found JCR Offroad here on the forum. Their classic slider looks nice. Just waiting on them to see if they can offer any type of discount.

As far as the rails I love them. Solid construction. I don't like the look of the tube rails so I stuck with the basic ones.

I have his front prerok, rear tire carrier, and regular rails, all ordered between August 2014-July 2015. My brother just ordered his phatxj with custom stinger 3 weeks ago and has it already, he's still around and taking orders.

I've never been not able to get ahold of AJ's. Only a couple times someone hasn't answered during business hours, but I left a message and they always called back. The guy even sent me sms text pictures of the bumpers before he sent them from his personal phone to ensure it was what I wanted and I was happy.
Awesome company.
Other than a few fitment issues, which is lore likely the jeep than his product, I'll be ordering all future amor from him.
My bro was looking at the RC bumper, but it looks ugly and is useless as all the stuff is bolt on i.e. D shackle mounts, frame tie in. I told him look for a solid ONE piece bumper. Turns out AJ's after shipping was the same price as the RC one with all the add ons. I've never been not able to get ahold of AJ's. I'm a fan of Detours Slyders (click here) They are a bit spendy, and if he is busy it can be a bit of a wait, but they are easy to install, require only minor welding (4 rosette welds), and they DRAMATICALY stiffen your "frame". Plus they are ROCK SOLID! I've wheeled the CRAP out of them and all I have to do is touch them up with paint afterwards (they come already primed!)
Just to give you an idea of how much stiffer they make your rig; you install by loosening the front bolt on the rear leaf spring, and sliding the rear fork under it. Then you install a self tapper on the front end, before you weld the rosettes and the front tab. I slapped mine on, and using JUST the rear and front bolts, NO WELDS AT ALL I drove it over to a buddies house to weld up, and virtually ALL of the squeaks and creaks we are all used to with our unibodies were GONE. I haven't heard another one since.
