Very common thing to do. So far ive only done my cargo area but i def like it. Only thing is it can get a lil hot in the cab from what i hear as the carpet has some weird insulation under it so u may wana fab up a heat shield for the exhaust but im not sure how bad the heat was. My buddys TJ is like this and his never gets hot. Definitely makes for a louder ride

I was tired of throwing my skateboard an tools and other odds and ends in my jeep getting the tan interior dirty of the cargo area. I scored 2 4x8 sheets of diamond plate and covered the floor and sides of the cargo area removing all the trim. After that removed everything and lined the entire floor. I kept the carpet in my jeep though from the back seats up. I personally like it and beat the hell out of my cargo area now that's it's a bit more rugged.

Damp Material, 80 sqft did all my doors floor hatch, what I could get in the rear sound bar by removing 1 piece of trim silver stuff is the Alpha damp which has a much thicker foil layer. http://secondskinaudio.com/vibration-mat/damplifier.php

I did my rear cargo area with Herculiner and it turned out awesome, one of my favorite mods. It's pretty easy to do, just takes some time. If you follow the directions you should have good results. Doing the whole floor would be nice in a trail rig but might be a little loud in a daily driver. Although, I drove my old XJ with no carpet for a few months and didn't have any issue with heat. The spot above the muffler gets warm even with the carpet in place anyway.

I did my whole floor of the truck. I have a water leak that comes from behind the dash (Ive done research and the dashboard has to come off to fix.) Everytime it would rain I would get a huge puddle and a terrible moldy smell in the truck. I took the metal drain plugs out and also drilled some more holes with a hole saw. I leave the drain plug thats back above the muffler out all of the time becuase its the lowest point for water to drain. When I get alot of water I just take the plugs out and done.

It's louder in the truck and in the summer time when I drive for a while i put a towel on the tranny hump by my right leg because it gets hot.

Its nice that the truck never smells like a$$ anymore, that was my main reason and also took care of rust.

No

Oh and if you need drain plugs there are IIRC 4 above the gas tank. The gas tank sits right against the bottom of the floor so theres no real need for them. I took those out and put them up by the front.
