saw these in Peterson's off road and was wondering if anyone had any real experience or knowledge with them? also thoughts from people who know a little more about shock physics than me

I was looking at those. It all makes sense, it just seems like if they were that good, more people would have em'. And for that price you may as well get some kings.
It's pretty interesting concept tho... You should buy em' and let us know what you think.

i wish i would if i had the money. i agree though i had never heard of them till i saw them in Peterson's maybe with taxes. they have a picture of the 16" travel next to some kings 16" and they are about half the length compressed. i would really like to try them out but 350 a shock is a lot
They just came out...
True, 6 months isn't a long time. I still think if they were that much an improvement as it appears, we would see them around more. Maybe not tho, I don't know much about metal cloak and hadnt heard of them till these shock came out. Either way, I really wish I had 800$ to blow on shocks

Agreed. Very soon after exceeding your shock length, you will run into other issues with steering binding, brake line max out, driveshaft angle max out, etc. Length alone should not be the only deciding factor for someone considering these.

For 400 bucks a piece you could rebuild the entire bottom of your Jeep. Instead of one shaft to leak you know have 4, you should already have the correct travel shocks one your XJ anyway.

Someone trying to re-invent the wheel. I dont see the need for them at all, the way I see it up travel is not as important as down travel, and more down travel can be had with a longer $100 shock. These are for the guy who doesnt know anything and has everything on their truck they have ever seen on the TV or in the magazine.
