Trying to resurrect a 97 that has been sitting for a few years and found one of the spring shackles is rusted and broke. A lift is down the road a ways and going to do shackle relocation boxes from Ruff Country. Can I go ahead and install these now without a lift or new springs? The springs are sagging pretty bad already and wondering if it would add too much stress.

 

You could install it now your shackles might contact the bracket under compression though, not that that's a big deal. Also if you haven't already bought the RC brackets buy yours from HD offroad engineering he is a CF vendor and it's a quality American made product for only a few dollars more than the RC brackets that some people have problems with plus the HD brackets are super beefy and have free shipping.
