Renix longblock in a 2000??
Friend of mine just bought a 2000 2wd xj with a blown motor and is having trouble locating a replacement in his price range... I have a spare '88 renix 4.0 with only about 100,000 miles on it that I'm willing to give him cheap. Can we use the renix longblock with the 2000 intake and such??? Any input is appreciated

I had the same question last year and called Jasper. They said the motor mount boss's were different.
I found this myself from a trans swap:
if its a manual the pilot bushing hole in the crank is a different size

So the boss is different for the block only right?? Or is the frame side different as well? If it's only on the block side I can just use 88 mounts right?
They're both autos...
Thanks!

Not sure... that's what Jasper told me.... so I did not pull the engine from my old 88 renix 4.0(before I scrapped it) to save as a spare for my '99 4.0.

Sold a renix engine for a stoker project that went into a TJ. They didnt change much with the blocks. Not 100% on what he did with the motor mounts but he said it went in pretty easily
