Default Renix electrical B+, Fuel, PCM Bat, etc

Hey Guys,

I removed approximately 6 factory connectors including the infamous C101... relocated the PCM and rerouted the harness removing more than 24" of wire in some cases.

Eliminating the fused linked wires in the process... I need to fuse protect these circuits and at a loss as to what size fuse to run. The circuits that I need to protect are power to: 1. B+ latch relay 16 awg. 2. Fuel pump relay 14-16 awg. 3. PCM Battery (B7) 16 awg. Number 2 and 3 where originally combined (same fuse link), but I separated those to stand alone.

I can size to protect the wire gauge, but thinking that it would be better to protect the circuit?

I am planning on getting rid of my fusable link, I hate those things and can be a pain if one blows when you are put and about, a fuse you can replace if you carry spares. I plan on using a Blue Sea Safety Hub which has 4 spots for MIDI/ANL fuses and then also 6 spots for ATO fuses for accessories. In my research, the midi fuse is closest to reacting like a fuse link in being it is a slow blowing fuse. Now I am still trying to decide on what size of fuse to run that would emulate the fuse link as charts on the web contradict each other and different manufacturers use different color coding. So far, this is the best guide I have come across in choosing fuse size, these are suggesting Maxi fuse size which can be the same as a midi fuse. The fuse link on the alternator wire would be run through a separate single fuse hold like the ones that come in the cable upgrade kits for the Cherokee. My XJ is missing the plastic wiring/relay cover like most are so I was planning on making an aluminum plate to fasten to the two brackets already there from the plastic cover and to the inner fender well and mounting the Safety Hub and alternator fuse on the plate which should be close enough for all the wiring to reach to the fuse connections and over to the starter relay. I had massive wiring harness repairs when I got my XJ as the previous owner couldn’t get it running after a rat chewed up the engine bay harness and then had a bunch of wiring short out, taking out the ECU.
