How on earth do we get the tab off of the TC so that we can put on the new Boostwerks tab? ...
ORIGINAL QUESTION ANSWERED!
Please see below for another clarification that I'm looking for. Total rookie here, but I will assure you all that I have used the search function here, and on Google, and on YouTube.
Thanks!

Hmm. I maybe answered my own question (again). After searching here and on YouTube, and a Himalayan trek to "find answers", I went to Boostwerks' page and looked at the details in their stock photography. Looks like it's a bolt.
But now my son just walked in with a disassembled linkage something-or-other (see below) that looks like the original assembly is a system of 1 linkage that goes to a pivot which, in turn, drives a second linkage arm, which then finally arrives at the TC.
So is our Boostwerks setup meant to replace this one-two linkage combo with a one-and-only linkage system? Direct from shifter to TC?

yes, the factory linkage was crap. One linkage went to that pivot which pulled the TC lever down. The new kit eliminates that and makes shifting more crisper
