Default Recovery points

Before I get new bumpers I want to have a couple of recovery points to hook up to. Looking at the stock XJ I don't see anything. Any suggestions?

There are tow hook brackets for the front, also a front receiver hitch. For the rear you can get a rear hitch.

Nope. Need a hitch or some tow hooks. A front hitch or a good bumper is really the best thing you can do up front.

there are alot of different brands that make hooks and brackets for up front, or you can get a front hitch, get a rear hitch and a d shackle receiver for the rear

I got this a month or so ago

http://www.ironrockoffroad.com/Merch...egory_Code=PFX.

I was gonna run this till I get enough for the bumper I really want. This thing is beefy and it ties in like a front hitch would. you dont lose any clearance like a hitch would. I haven't had to use it yet but i'm sure it will work better than some of thoes aftermarket brackets.

Thanks Mike. Is this the best place to buy these? Are they worth the money?

Guys ... if you look up the specs on most front hitches they are only rated for 3000 pounds.
Now think, a hitch ties into both sides of the front frame rail while one of the "brackets" only ties into one of them. The XJs frame setup is weaksauce and most of those brackets cost damn near what littleleonard will make you a front bumper that ties into both parts of the frame and has tow hooks on it for.

Don't know where you're getting your info from...Draw-tite's hitch is 9000# line pull....

http://www.draw-tite.com/content/pro...D=1075+&part=0

And with a hitch you tie both sides of the unibody together, instead of pulling on one side only like with the tow hook brackets.

I believe that is what the hitch can handle. I'll have to search to find where it says 3000.
