want to add a gastank skid on a 98 , have jcr tc skid. i dont really do any heavy duty rock crawling so i dont neeed a $300 + one, but just feel something needs to cover that plastic tank . ive seen tomkens for $180 , anyone here use it ? i know about the jy zj model will fit but aint into the whole production of stripping one at a jy.

Check around on websites like quadratec, rustys, and serious offroad might have one... Like you said the JCR one is nice and popular

Yeah look around find what you like then hit up some of our vendors and get a nice discount.

the JY one is great, since you can get it for around 20 bucks or so. all you have to do at the yard is bring a breaker bar and snap the bolts off in the junk jeep, then bring the skid home. takes 20 minutes or so, and worth saving the 100 bucks.

I had a tomken on my last xj. Sturdy.. I didnt pay for it though, it was on when I bought it.

i agree w/ you, but no jy is close to me & sometimes when i have went they dont have what i want or its difficult to get the part off or not even possible w/ hand tools. but the big brown truck comes right to my house.
