I thought this would be an easier search, but it's not. I want to ditch my front winch and get a front bumper with a better approach angle. With not wanting to completely ditch the winch, I'd like to relocate it to the rear, since I also need a beefier rear bumper.

I've only seen custom things people have made themselves, no shops offer it, from what I've seen so far.

Anyone have one made that I can look and possibly have replicated? Or a shop that sells them?

That'd be a nice backup plan. I like that. I'd love to find something that hides the winch though.

 

You can take this style mount off and lock it in the Jeep. Can't get much more "hidden" than that. Also, you can use a locking hitch pin and big chain/lock with it to keep it from being stolen should you decide to leave it installed.

 

Hmm.. I'll keep that idea open definitely. I was looking for something like this:

 

PORTABLE/HITCH attachment winch. Sidebar: anyone know the lightest
winch made ? Most of the ones I am seeing are about 85 lbs plus the plate.
You would need 2 people to put those on, unless you are 6-5 and 250lbs.

or are a body builder/linebacker ....

i'll be adding a winch to my front bumper soon, and it stick outs less than the stock bumper. the action fab ones are a nice bolt on option for super low pro winch bumpers.

 

Get a front bumper with the winch under the grill...

And rainshadow I can lift a winch+ cradle fairly easily... I'm 6' 155 pounds and faaarrr from a body builder..

 

The Warn 9.0RC is 54 lbs with synthetic rope.

 

Thanks for the info about the weight. I hurt my back 25 yrs ago and can not stoop over and bend with anything over about 50/60 pounds.
