Default Rear Springs with 3" lift

My '90 Cherokee and my wife's '97 Cherokee both have 3" lift kits on them. Both were "add-a-leaf" for the back axle. Both are squatting in the back.

I assume the squatting is due to worn out leaf springs, so I'm starting to look around. I'm guessing that getting complete springs so as to ditch the "add-a-leaf" is a good thing. When I look around, I find plenty of 2.5" or 4" springs. I found 1 3" spring. But I have a few questions for the experts...

1) I'm seeing prices from $109 to $219. Is a more expensive spring that much better? I realize this is a subjective question, but I thought I may be missing something. I'll pay what I need to in order to get what I want, I'm just in the "don't know what I don't know" spot at the moment. The only 3" spring I found was $214.

2) The description of many of the springs say something to the effect of "up to 3" lift" Is that their way of saying "your ride height will be higher than stock, and we guess it should be about 3" higher"? Is there no way of knowing if such a spring will level my truck without putting it on?

More info: My '90 Cherokee Laredo has a Pro Comp 3" lift kit which included shocks & springs for the front and add-a-leaf in the back.

Wifey's: '97 Cherokee Sport has a BDS Suspension 3" lift kit which included the same thing.

We both do a bit of off-roading and camper pulling. Her's is a daily driver, mine is more of a toy.

All springs sag eventually, and just because a pair is more expensive doesn't always mean they're better. I would suggest picking up some used S10 blazer springs and taking the second leaf out of them and adding it to your current pack to get the height back. If you want it to ride nice and cushy tho, you will probably have to get new leaves. As a rule of thumb, packs with more leaves are softer and flexier than those with only a few.

Around 3 inches would just mean that depending on what you do itll be close to 3 inches. So it you haul a bunch of stuff they'll probably sag faster and what not than if you didn't do anything other than drive. You get what you pay for so i would just say make a good investment and dont buy something just to get it or because its cheaper. Look in the Vendor section for some goods deals, most of em have suspension stuff.

OME MD (or HD if you haul/tow a decent amount) 2" springs, usually net around 3.3.5" about 110$/ea @ q-tec + bushings (a few extra $$)

OME HD , BDS, or RE 3.5" Are the 3 moderately priced decent springs on the market . If you want to spend some serious cash give Deaver or Alcan a call

I just put in Pro Comp leaf springs part #5311. They gave me 4 inches but they come with built in 4 degree shims, if im not mistaken, and im sure they will settle down a little bit. 180 shipped to my door
