There is one benefit about a longer shackle it will angle rear yoke up slightly helping with vibes and 3/4 really kina hard to notice.

what so that rustys kit gives you 6.5" leaf packs or something? it should be a 5.5" leaf with a 1" shackle to equal 6.5"
you should need a 1" shackle no matter what I'm confused

My lift has 6.5 rear springs...i think im going to go with the rustys .75 shackle to get rid of the flemsey factory shackles.... Ones rusted in two anyway.. would i need a .75 front spacer to level the xj out?

tall leaf springs are more arched. To allow your springs to work better, longer shackles are always reccomended. Rustys may not do it, but most of the quality manufacturers when selling a taller lift kit, use shorter springs and an extended shackle to achieve the desired ride height.
when leaf springs compress, they get longer eye to eye. the more they can compress, the longer they get when compressing. really arched springs pretty much need a longer shackle to allow for that difference in length and to allow the spring to work to its full potential.

Also recommend a shackle relocation box. They are worth the extra $120

thats the way I may go.
Was doing some research and just read 20 pages of "MAN LOVE" over on the NAXJA site about these. Only negative, if you even wanna call it that was the bolts maybe 10mm to short. But the vendor and 3/4 others said it was a NON ISSUE.
Im trying one more tweek to the rear this week before I jump on these, if it doesnt work IM IN!!!!
