While removing the lower rear shock nut the threaded portion twisted off, leaving me with just the shock stud sticking out. After some research I decided to cut the stud off completely from the bracket and drill a 1/2" hole for the universal shock stud kit I bought from Summit. After cutting off and grinding flat I notice the outline of possibly a much larger hole as you can see in the photos. I tapped on it with a hammer and sort of expected it to fall out the back, but it won't budge. I don't know if I've explained this right. Does anyone know what I'm talking about and whether that bracket is one solid piece? Thanks.
That is the post from the original shock mount, they are welded into the bracket from the back side.
Don't know what your stud kit looks like from Amazon but common practice at this point would be to just run a long shank grade 8 bolt through there and then mount your shock - done deal
