Default Rear drive shaft too short

I lifted my 98 Cherokee sport with a Rough Country 6.5" lift. Had a repair place replace the rear drive shaft twice but then realized that it is about 2" too short. The spline on the "slip-yoke" shows about 2" and the boot is also 2" too short. There is a lot of vibration and a loud klung when putting into gear. What are my options to fix this problem myself.

Slip Yoke Eliminator and a custom driveshaft.

Did this not come up when you were researching your lift?

Nope, I'm helping someone fix it but have no experience with Jeeps/lifted vehicles; however, may end up keeping it. I thinking I'm getting the 4-W bug.

so you just went ahead an threw a tall, cheap lift on without research? Come on man haha.

gonna need a a slip yoke eliminator and new driveshaft at the correct length you need. What size tires you have?

That's about it.....I just checked the procedure for installing a SYE into the transfer case which is too extensive for this purpose. Is there any other options such as Double Carcan?

Then you should have done some research to see what was required for a lift that high, becasus that is the only thing you can proper at that height. Any other way and you're asking for trouble. You need an sye to for a double cardan.

did you get the long arm kit or short arm. Long arm is the better option as far as ride quality and overall performance.

it is more then likely not correct. So that can be looked at. But still at 6.5 inches of lift, I don't think no sye is wise.

Wonderful.....just got an estimate of $1800 for installing SYE, correct driveshaft and pinion angles. Too much to throw at it since it's being sold.....thanks gents.

sigh... please be truthful with potential buyers...i hate when people screw over others when selling vehicles when they lie about issues............ but then again people should do research as well haha

$1800! that's insane you can get a sye kit for $200-250 even cheaper if you get the hack and tap style and a good custom driveshaft for $500. You may even be able to use a front driveshaft but I am not sure if it will work with that much lift.
