Default Rear Bumper

I have a 99 Xj and i want to get a new rear bumper that looks good but i want a class 3 hitch as well i’ve been looking around for some and i found one from warrior products i’ve heard good and bad about Jcr’s bumper and i’ve looked at other brand i can’t remember, i want to have the reverse light pods as well so i was thinking of just doing the warrior and just cutting light pod mounting into it but want advice if there are any brands you guys recommend, i’m only gonna be towing small boats like a 16 Forester that is old or some small fishing boats or just little trailers and such. EDIT: Forgot to mention i was looking at other option like the Rough country one and thats what i was originally gonna do but they said towing is not rated because they have to pay to get it tested through the NHA or something and thats what i feel im most likely gonna do, the boat id be towing the most is less than 2000lbs and i can move it around with and lift the tounge with one arm so with it being capable as a recovery point it should i be fine.

I put a this one on several years ago - the bumper is available with or without a tire swing and integrates well with the XJ :

I don't think they still make that bumper. You won't find many if any of the aftermarket bumpers that are rated for towing. I would use a factory/aftermarket hitch for towing a trailer and then use whatever bumper floats your boat.

I can’t seem to find an actual store page for that item anymore and i’m not a fan of that tire carrier for the look i’m thinking and i don’t feel like it’d look right without it especially cause i can’t seem to find it anymore on any store page

JCR makes the nicest looking XJ rear bumper IMO. It's very expensive, but it's nicely designed and blends in perfectly. JCR has a great reputation as well.

Awesome rear bumper right here. I’ve had one on my ‘89 for about 10 years:

Ouch - apparently, it is no longer available. That's a shame because it was simply a 2 x4 steel tube sandblasted and powder-coated. Without the optional spare tire carrier, it was simply a clean rectangle with a 2" receiver welded on. Any other bumper with a welded-on receiver will safely pull a light trailer and I WOULD NOT pull anything over 2,000 lbs with an XJ any distance
