Hey everyone,

Looking to upgrade to 62mm TB on my 2000 XJ sport 4.0L to get more throttle response.

Have the THOR cowl intake and 4 hole injectors. Exhaust upgrade will be done in the future.

I’ve read all the old threads on the subject and decided to start my own thread instead of digging up a 10 year old one.

Most posts say strokedjeep.com does the best work and lowest price. I reached out to Jeff and he doesn’t stock the 62 and would need me to send him a core and money order to do it.

So, what do I do? I’m looking for no down time as it’s my DD and only vehicle.

- Find one at the junk yard and send that one to him?
- Buy one off eBay and send to him?
- Send him my TB and put the eBay or junk yard one on my Jeep until I get the bored one back?
- Buy a new BBK for $225 (might get the whistle and have read about needing to modify for sensor fitment). I’d rather not pay over $200.
- Buy a 62mm bored from random guy on eBay?

In the For Sale section here, one guy only does 60mm (correct me if I’m wrong), and another sold his business.

Wondering what you guys would do in this situation, or have any advise for me.

I still clean them up and bore them in batches. I send out the complete TB then refund a core charge when I get the old one back.

Hmmm. That's a tough one. Buy from some unknown on eBay or from a well-respected member of this forum who's been around here for 6 years.
