Read-end bump stops
I am looking to buy some bump stops for the rear of my cherokee because when I originally bought the Jeep they were completely rotted out. I have a 6.5" RC L.A. lift and am wondering what size I should buy or if it really matters that much.

Ya know the truth is that there is no standard size needed for "X" amount of lift. The rear has to do with three things mainly: tire size, rear fender/flare cutout, and leaf type (you don't want to invert your leafs).
I bought some extended, progressive, bumps for the rear of mine without looking into this much. After installing them and flexing the truck out, I realized there is a bit more to it.
Here is mine on 32's buried into the stock fenders. Even with the extended stop, you can see, there is no chance they'll contact the axle. Also, since I run an extended shackle with a 3" pack (4.5" lift) the leaf is close to flat.
Here is my solution for the difference. I cut and mitered a piece of 2"x2"x0.188" tubing at 4.5" Lg. I welded them to the u-bolt retainer plate and now I can stuff my 32's, with stock fenders/flares, without rubbing!
Hope this helped.

The only sure way of knowing the correct length for your bump stops is to jack one side of the axle up until it is stuffed as far as you want to go and then measure for bump stop length. Do it for all four corners.
I do this on every rig I set up for wheeling, only way to get it right for your lift and tire combo.
