Default RE Super Ride 3.5" Opinions

I have a horrible stock suspension! I mean it kills. I want to ease the ride but also lift it. I have read some great things about the RE Super Ride but nothing about how soft it is or the difference between the stock and it. Any opinions? and, if you feel like posting a pic of your RE lift, id like to see!

I've got the 4.5" and it was pretty spongey before adding the shocks. shocks will play the biggest roll in ride quality. with stiff shocks, short arms, and 90* shackle angle it won't feel much more comfortable than stock. if you're strictly going for better ride quality, look into an Old Man Emu kit

If you want a comfortable ride i cant say i would recommend it man. Now the front coils are rated for 241 lbs where the stock coils are 150 i believe. The kit is great if you have alot of heavy stuff on your rig. (They call it extreme duty for a reason) Now mine is about 5 years old and has not begun to sag AT ALL. So durability wise its tough). Most people find that this kit really sits more like a 4" lift. In my opinion any lift over 3-3.5 you really should have a SYE. You absolutely should have an adjustable track bar as well. That will ensure your front axle will be centered properly. (Some idiots will tell u thats not necessary but there wrong.) Overall its a good kit. Just make sure you know what your getting into. Heres a pic of how mine sits

Ya i've seen the old man emu and it looks pretty legit but for that price i want some height out of it. i guess i should just stop being a puss and drive the beast. as for shocks, should i go with a twin tube shock kit or a mono tube shock kit? and what other parts would you recommend outside of the lift kit like a SYE, etc.

X2 everything he said

This kit does not ride well for and every day driver its only slightly better than most of the "Crap" Out there....
if you want 4" or so of lift try this....
keep your stock control arms and buy Rocky Road Outfitters CAD Brackets, buy Clayton off road 4" springs I believe they are around 170 in lb's, bilstein 5100 shocks, OME rear Leaf Pack, and a 2" extended Shackle to level out the the back. it will ride about as good as a XJ can at 4 or so inches of lift.

I run a 3.5" RE with Bilstein 5100's on my XJ it rides really good on road, and even better offroad, But I will admit my XJ is a Tank With all of the weight from my Armor that will help it ride better

you get bad shackle angle or anything of the sort? did you need degree shims or bracket relocates?

I have very minor vibrations at 65-70. I have a. 4* Shim in the rear. My shackle angle does suck I am going to address that with a liquid iron industry's shackle slider box.

does the shakle box add any inches to the lift? this is my only concern since the RE 3.5 is supposedly higher in the rear. adding more inches to the rear would only add more to the level problem

Most everyone who runs the 3.5 Re super ride kit sits about 4" in the rear. Its because of the "extreme duty" leafs.
