Lol if u get new leafs that are smaller they might not need a bracket. Then what to do. Add a longer shackle.

Like everyone else said... They WILL settle over time. When i put mine in they were crazy shrot too, but like you, i managed to get them in there and after one good long weekend of wheeling they settled a whole bunch. As for the stiff ride, i didnt experience any of that what-so-ever. Must just be the 4.5 leaf pack?

If you didn't get enough replies...here's one more. Shackle relocation boxes, shackle is at 45* angle when sitting on level ground

After 1100 miles and around 100 lbs of rocks in the back, springs is settling at around 4.75" (rear lift height).
Shackle angle is still bad at 90* wtf!

Others have recommmended standards shackles, but there is an alternative.... Have you looked at the JKS Boomarang shackles?

Boomerangs do nothing on xjs. They were made for wranglers who have probs with it hitting the frame since their rear frame rail extends longer back than ours

Longer shackles will hit the rear cross member on XJs too... I need boomerang shackles with my setup.

boomerangs have their purpose on xjs. some quality leaves are a titch longer and they are needed to clear the shackle box.
