RC Long Arm and Stiffeners
Okay so I have decided to go with the 6.5 RC Long arm kit and tnt stiffeners. I am planning on putting the stiffeners on first then doing the long arm. My question is can I just weld the bracket (highlighted in pic) that RC supplies you to the stiffeners instead of drilling two holes and putting bolts in like they tell you to do. I want to avoid alignment with the bolt holes and what not since the stiffeners will be on before I do the long arm.
Seems to me welding it would make it stronger than just two bolts. Lemme know what you guys think.

I have Clayton long arms and HD mid section stiffners. I welded my crossmember to the unibody then cut my stiffners around the crossmember and welded them together.
I don't think your RC long arm crossmember is modular (2nd least favorite LA kit) so welding the crossmember means you can't drop the tranny or change the mount if it doesn't come out...
If it is modular and you can drop a section to remove the tranny, line the bottom two holes up with the nuts in the unibody and weld away.

For the price of that kit, could you piece together a 5.5-6.5" kit for right around the same price? I went with Clayton's 3 link and I like how it performs with my setup, and how it's a 3 piece. So it's welded to the "frame" but the center section comes out for tranny work. And it holds well. I jumped my jeep at TDS this year and it holds tight. Although I will be making a new crossmember and skid plate, but that's just to do a 4 link rear.
