So i've been thinking about it a quite a bit...I've seen louvers done a bit on jeeps but not quite what im thinking, so would it be logical and something worth doing to put hood vents in this location like over my air cleaner...

But turn them the other way around so air can come in faster and give my cai more cold air rather then hot engine compartment air, plus should drop engine temp too. Looking at this style of louvers though...

Any thoughts or anything i may need to know would be helpfull.

Faced forward they will allow allot more water in. This is an issue with normally installed louvers, but a ram set-up would just make it worse.

Ya i understand that, but i was just thinking that i spent $200 on a cai and heard they're pretty worthless because of the engine heat...so that was why i was thinking of doing this.

Why would u spend 200 on cai? Mine cost me about 36$ and looks pretty good imo, the only really true cai for xj is a snorkel, some ppl have fabbed up some pretty nice cowl hoods using the stock hood
