Default Quick disconnects hardware

I bought some hardwware to make my own quick discos and when I went to put them in, I realized I had grade 8 bolts down there. Do I need grade 8 hardware for this? I didn't think the sway bar end links took that much stress. I swear I've seen people make quic discos out of regular pins and such without problem.

Try em without 8s. If one breaks its not gonna kill ya. I bet it will be fine.

I used my stock bolts and just drilled a hole in it and put a pin in the hole. Has worked great for almost a year now.

I could throw a wing nut on there and drill a hole for a pin to keep it from backing out. Thoughts?

You can go to the hardware store and get all kinds of quick release pins.

I have all the pins I would need, I just worry about it breaking. My dad says I need to find a way to do it with grade 8 hardware or fork out the money for premade ones.

could deffinitly keep some extra pins in the jeep if you are worried.

I've mangled some pins badly on the oval track and they didnt break, I'd say you wouldnt have to worry much about it, but a spare is simple to carry/change takes no space.
