Ya, no worries on a limit strap.. Just make sure you have proper bump stops so as to not over flex.

Exactly, If you over compress a shock it will be ruined also you don't want the tires to get into the fender. To prevent both of these from happening you increase the bump stops so that the upward travel of the tire stops before bottoming out the shock or the tire get into the fender (which ever comes first). You have several options for increasing bump stops. For the front the most economical and effective way I’ve found (as well as many others) is, instead of extending the stock bump stops, install hockey pucks on top of the coil spring bucket/pad. You can purchase 8 hockey pucks from HockeyGiant.com for about $20. You can bolt them or glue them in place. I prefer to bolt them so they don’t come loose and rattle around. For the rear you can extend the stock bump stops off of the frame or purchase longer ones.

I limit my down travel with cables. It's hard on shocks to overextend them so i set my cables a half inch before the shocks top out. Might not be real necessary but Replacing bilsteins isn't that cheap.

Limit straps are very common arounf here and they are cheap insurance.

Get 'em.
Use 'em.

It depends on what you're using for suspension components.

For those that are running my LongArms, I suggest flexing the suspension and measuring from the "old" upper control mounting location on the frame rail to the radius arm bolt on the long arm itself.

1-2" shorter than your max droop will keep your front end from ripping itself apart.

Yes. They work great and are easily adjustable. Attaches to the axle at the lca bolt and to the unibody at a factory tapped hole.

Typically you won't need them with short arms.

YMMV

I agree. Although a wheeling buddy had short arms with no limiting straps, buried it in mud/water, an while pulling it out the front axle literally folded underneath the Cherokee and made a mess of everything. Rare case though haha
