So I needed to replace my drivers front fender on my 89, and when I removed it I noticed rust under the flare. So I pulled the pass. Fender off and alas, rot under the flare. I figure since its all off and I need to buy fenders I might as well buy a header panel and update the 89.

I've read and searched. I know what I need, but can I use newer fenders and flares, but keep my stock bumper, and have it look ok? Does anybody have a pic of this? Thanks guys -Paul

is my '99 with an earlier bumper complete with endcaps on it...looks alright IMHO

 

Doesn't look bad at all, so I'm assuming the 97-01 fenders are actually shorter to accommodate the new bumper?

 

yeah I think so, never thought about it. I've had a few 90-95s and always trimmed the fenders, started by removing the portion in front of the wheels that hangs below the grill...like a late model XJ
