What is leaf spring "Sag"? is it when the spring is completely flow or worse, or would a spring be considered as "sagging" if the arch is almost completely out of the spring?
I ask because i added some weight to the back of my cherokee and my OME rear springs look nearly level. (light duty rear springs).
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

sag is lower lift height than originally expected, unsprung.
if you have significantly flatter springs with added weight, you want a load leveler leaf added.

I'm kinda in the same boat, except I didn't add weight & my leafs are frowning. I don't think a helper springs are gonna help me! Looks like new leafs are in my future

best to replace sagging leafs with new leaf packs.
an add a leaf will just sag later and will make for an uncomfortable bumpy ride.

all suspension springs should sag when the vehicle weight is applied or they would be way too stiff. Around 40% is typical. You could have too much sag if your springs were too soft to begin with, you have added more load or they have fatigued and no longer respond to loads correctly. Even oil leaks that contaminate can effect leaf springs to a great degree.

at some point in the last few years OME changed leafs. They used to sell a light/medium duty and an HD. I don't know the part numbers, but they are different from the new ones. There is someone else on the forum that has leafs about the same age as yours and he has a little sag too. You can get new ones on Amazon or from DPG if you wanted to stay with OME.Originally Posted by iluvmud

You have to watch what you buy also because most of the cheap leafs you see and the ones in most lift kits are made in China (will sag quickly) be sure of what your buying. The metal in these can be very different I have no idea where some of these come from but I do know the ones from Rustys are all American made and do last.
