Lightbulb Push button start!

Alright, to start this thread off;

I got my hands on a 1992 4.0 HO AX-15...2wd. Cleanest rig I have come across in my area for $450! Mint inside and out!

But...237,xxx miles takes a toll on electronic switches. (I.E. the Ignition)

I am doing a push button start system with dead man switch, relays, Fused links, and Acc. switch.

-THE PROBLEM-

there are two 18g wires coming off the harness that go to a brake relay(?) and the coolant temp. from what I can see, these wires never come in contact with a power source. They only connect to each other inside the ignition switch. (from what I can tell)

Does anyone have any experience with doing this set up? Keep in mind that i am fully removing the key and tumbler from the equation.

yes they do, I didnt hook them up and the only difference is the lights dont go through check mode. I did end up getting every thing wired up and it works flawlessly.

I will make a write up and post it tonight. I am thinking about making another one for my other jeep. So I will lay the wire out and make a picture album for it

By your other Jeep, do you mean your 90? I'm interested to see this. Especially since I have a 90.

Yes. So it will be the same harness that I just made. It's almost universal for the older models

okay here is my semi-write up. I am not the best at explaining what to do, but i tried. obviously im not going to tell you where to put your switches. And the wire lume is optional (its for looks under the dash)

this is how I wired my set up, and I havent had any issues.

If you are not confident with wiring...please dont attempt this.

i forgot to mention in there that you do not need to hook up the smaller wires to anything. all the do is ground out for a system light check. if you want you can connect those to another switch and ground the switch to perform your own light check...
