I have a 95' Country XJ. I've taken apart my original keyless entry wiring harness via the roof dome, connected it to my REC-43T+, and verified correctness multiple times (the locks will function when I short wires manually). I have followed the programming instructions exactly, and the unit still does not respond to the remotes. I bought two of these things; they don't respond to programming. I find it unlikely that they are both broken, but who knows they look very old because of the packaging they came in (the box was kinda beaten up, but both units seemed in perfect cosmetic condition). I don't know what else to do.

For a little extra detail, what I am doing to program is:
1. Hold program button wait for beeps
2. Press lock button on remote (transmitter beeps once), press unlock button on remote (transmitter beeps twice)
3. Hold program button wait for beeps
4. Press lock button on second remote (transmitter beeps once), press unlock button on second remote (transmitter beeps twice)
5. Wait for multiple beeps, red light turns off

Please let me know whatever other diagnostic information is needed to solve this issue.
