I recently installed an aftermarket plug and play HID kit on my 01 xj. The first time I powered them on I noticed that once the truck was off (not running, no key in ignition) the lights remain on for about 30 seconds and then my headlight switch makes a loud buzzing noise and I have to flash my brights to make it stop. It does this everytime even if I don't turn the lights on when I turn the truck off this problem occurs. I've read and the installation instructions state to disable drl (daytime running lights) if equipped. When I pull the fuse it also disables my cluster and over head council. Has any one had this issue or know a fix to disable the drl?

Does your Jeep have the headlight delay? On mine, if you turn the ignition off while the lights are on and then turn the light switch off, the lights themselves will stay on for 60 seconds. The idea behind this was that you could pull up into your driveway in the dark and leave yourself some light to see to get inside your house.
Apparently some of the HIDs do not play well with this unit. There's a relay under the dash on the driver's side above the pedals that goes nuts when you turn off the lights, even if you're not using the delay function. That's the buzzing you're hearing. Follow the buzz to find that relay (should be a silver box) and try unplugging it. You won't have the delay function any longer, but I'm guessing that won't ruin your week to find that out.
