I have a 96 XJ with the H4 upgraded headlights. I got the jeep with them so i know nothing about them. The problem is they will both dim out and flicker on and off after 20-30 minutes of driving. Are the bulbs to bright for the stock relay/fuse?
and one odd question, when i got the jeep the guy said it has the jet power module, where do i find that? i know its on the ecu but i came from hondas to jeeps, and a hondas ecu is pretty obvious, this jeeps got me scratching my head..

If it doesn't have the above mentioned harness upgrade the headlight switch may be fried causing your lights to flicker. Finding the harness upgrade is easy IF its the one purchased online. It's bright yellow. It should be coming off the positive of the battery.

And goes towards the front behind the battery.
Replacing the headlight switch is fairly easy ill look for a write up in a min.
As for the jet for the ecu I've got no idea where you would look sorry.

So I couldn't find a write up for removing the headlight switch but I think I remember how I had to do it.
First you need to look under the dash for a hole about an inch in diameter inside the hole is a button. You will need to pull the headlight switch out all the way and the press the button to get it all the way off. It is possible to do this without removing the lower portion of the dash but its easier to get to with the lower dash removed.
Next you need a very wide flat head screwdriver to unscrew this nut

After that reach back under the dash and pull the switch down as far as possible and use the flat head to lift the tabs and disconnect the switch from the harness.
Instal is reverse of removal (duh)
On a side note a lot of people have said they broke some of the plastic when tightening that nut. If that happens your headlight switch will wiggle around, it will still be function able just annoying. Also if that does happen to fix it you will need to replace the entire dash or fabricate something to hold it in place.

i think it has the harness upgrade. it has clips for the lights if thats what its suppose to have and there spliced into the power wire with some kind of grip splice with 2 bolts that go threw the positive wire. i could have sworn the guy said he changed the switch. ill give it a shot, thanks for the tip. i still need to trace the wires to find the ground, hopefully tomorrow
