I was talking to a guy who is going to do some bodywork for me and he was telling me about how his friend ported the head on his XJ and got about 40ish more horsepower.

I wouldn't be surprised because these engines have **** airflow.

I guess he is running with GM valves.

I'm down to try it cause I got a 96 head with some sticking lifters hanging out in the garage and I have accesses to a Mill and a CnC.

Any pointers?
Should I leave it to the pros? (what would it cost)







oh and does anyone know where I can get a ****ing header for less than $150? the ones on ebay look like they will last MAYBE 1 Michigan winter.

Find a way to open up the intake a bit and you'll probably get even more.

one way they do it is force a wet sand like material through the runners, it errodes the material... pretty neat stuff
