Default Popping in front end.

I've got a popping in my front end on my 99 cherokee.
Specs:
4.5" RE coils
IRO lower control arms.
RE double shear track bar
RC sway bar discos
JCR HD steering spacer.
Just replaced every TRE with Moog parts hoping it would fix it.
Still pops....
It'll pop once when I turn it one way then pop again when I turn it the other...

Only things left are the ball joints or the steering box itself i think...

I would have someone come and turn the steering wheel for you while you are looking at the front end from outside the vehicle. I had a problem similar to this a year or so ago. It ended up being that my track bar bracket was loose and the bolts needed tightened. I could easily tell what it was when I had someone come turn the steering wheel for me while I looked from outside the jeep.

Check the frame side steering box bolts and trackbar mount bolts. They like to wiggle loose and when you turn they pop pretty loud

Also check the frame behind the steering box. Is it cracked?

Sway bar still on? Is the sway bar hitting the coil on the right side? Or is the coil catching on the bump stop that sits inside it? This is a common issue if the axle is moved forward or the coil springs are bowed out from improper caster angle.

no sway bar and my coils are a little saggy i have rusty's go figure but it is like in the floor by the passenger side like the upper or lower control arm bracket it is weird could it just be my control arms jamming up really hard

i know what your talking about with the coil noise i have heard that before but that is not it. it is louder alot louder

I've rebuilt the passenger side axle with a HD moog u-joint.
There is a bit of slack in the drivers side joint and that's the side the sound is from. Ill replace the drivers side axle u-joint this weekend and see if that fixes it.

mine popped at low speeds, especially when turning sharp while parked. It was simply loose steering box bolts.

same problem here with the 99 as well. everything is new under there except for the steering box which i think is the culprit.

replaced the drivers side u-joint.
that wasnt it.
I think its the steering box itself.
The local upull yard has a 98 durango they just put on the lot, ill go pull the steering gear from that and swap it in next weekend.
This is starting to get old....lol

Re-checked the track bar mounts.

The frame bracket needed to BARELY be tightened. Like tightened with a breaker bar. Now the popping is gone. Finally. I really didn't think those bolts needed to be that tight...
