Okay so I went at the door hinge mod today . My buddy told me to cut the hinge in half , and I soon realized that wasn't going to work . Say what you want I know this was very dumb . What do I do now? Buy a new hinge? I can't weld . Any advice would save my life - I inserted pics
Only way to fix that is to weld it back up. You can't buy a new bracket for that so you'll have to cut them off another jeep.. That'll be a project. I agree with the above post though.. Don't listen to that buddy again and definitely do your research before doing a mod like that.
Im new to jeeps but not new to modding cars. Can you get to the backside of the hinge on the body? Cut one off a donor car and bolt it to the jeep.
Where are you located? Maybe a member can weld one on for you.
No. There is not access to the back of the hinge and it cannot be bolted to the body. The hinge plate, unfortunately, is welded in place from the factory. Any other configuration would require significant modification beyond just welding a new one in place.

Thanks for the snarky free response man. Yeah I realized it definitely needs to be welded after seeing it's on the frame . I'm gonna get that done tomorrow . So the thing is my buddy told to to cut the bottom of the hinges , I thought he meant BOTTOM hinge , you can see where I'm going . So I'm gonna weld it back on and try to look for a good write up now to get the quick release mod . Good news is the other side was done correctly . Thanks though guys
