I have a 2000 xj, I installed the rc 4.5 inch short arm lift kit. One of the things I don't see as often on the xj is the use of longer pitman arms. Why is that? Do I need one? What would it help with? Thanks

u dont see them very often on lifted xj's cuz the drag link and trac bar are still relatively parallel to eachother with moderate lift . from my experience the use of a longer pitman helps steering angle , and by keeping the drag link an trac bar parrallel . when u start getting into lots of lift, modified steering , over the axle trac bar relocation , or upper trac bar drop brackets. u will need the right pitman arm to keep everything working together nicely. if u dont have the t/b and drag link as parrallel as u can get u'll start getting into bumpsteer issues . hope this helps
